      约翰最近租了一套公寓，在和陈太太的聊天过程中谈起了这个话题。     

     John: I rent an apartment in this residential area.

     约翰：我在这个小区租了一套公寓。

     Chen: That’s good. How much is the rent? 

     陈：太好了。租金多少钱呀？

     John: 3000 Yuan a month. 

     约翰：每月3000元.

     Chen: Not too expensive. How do you like it? 

     陈：不太贵。你喜欢吗？

     John: I like the beautiful surroundings. 

     约翰：我喜欢周边美丽的环境。

     Chen: Are the living facilities good? 

     陈：生活设施好吗？

     John: Yes. There is a fitness center in this area.

     约翰：好的。小区里有个健身房。

     Chen: Good.

     陈：很好。

      rent 既可以作动词“租住”、“租用”；又可以作名词表示“租金”。例如，How much is the rent of the apartment you are going to rent? 你打算租的那套公寓的租金是多少？前面的那个rent 是名词，表示租金；后面的那个rent 是动词，表示租住。
